Best practice do’s and don’ts
Structure – Other information The final part of the CV, regardless of whether it is a reverse chronological or functional CV, should cover the following areas – qualifications and training, education, other interests, references.
Structure – Functional CV An increasingly popular format to use as opposed to the reverse chronological CV is the functional CV. This details key skills and achievements instead of the career history and summarises the career history down to role, company and dates.
Structure – Career History The traditional CV (known as the reverse chronological) will then go into the details of your career roles in reverse order, with the most recent role first. This is because our careers are often a progression, with more responsibility and experience as we develop.
